BB1.2-Removable Plate Heat Exchanger

The removable plate heat exchanger is composed of many heat exchange plates (metal thin plates with stamped corrugated grooves), sealed around at certain intervals by sealing gaskets, and compressed by clamping bolts. The holes at the corners form continuous channels, allowing the medium to enter the channel from the entrance and be distributed into the flow paths between the heat exchange plates. Each plate has a sealing gasket, and the positions between the plates are alternately placed. Two types of fluids enter their respective channels, separated by the plates. Generally, the two media flow countercurrently within the channels, with the hot medium transferring heat to the plates, which then transfer heat to the cold medium on the other side, thereby achieving the purpose of reducing the temperature of the hot medium while heating the cold medium.

Removable plate heat exchangerIt is made up of many heat exchange plates (metal sheets with stamped corrugated grooves), sealed around the edges with sealing gaskets at certain intervals, and compressed with clamping bolts. The holes at the corners form continuous channels, allowing the medium to enter the channel from the entrance and be distributed into the flow paths between the heat exchange plates. Each plate has a sealing gasket, and the position between the plates is alternately placed. Two types of fluids enter their respective channels, separated by the plates. Generally, the two media flow countercurrently in the channels, with the hot medium transferring heat to the plates, which then transfer heat to the cold medium on the other side, thereby achieving the purpose of reducing the temperature of the hot medium and heating the cold medium.

The main features include: high heat transfer coefficient; convenient maintenance and cleaning (this aspect has relatively decreased since the introduction of THE); low fouling coefficient; compact structure, small footprint, lightweight; easy to change heat exchange area or flow combinations; small temperature difference at the outlet, etc.

However, removable heat exchangers have lower temperature and pressure capacity and poorer corrosion resistance compared to semi-welded plate heat exchangers (SWPHE), fully welded plate heat exchangers (WPHE), and brazed heat exchangers (CBE).
